Bee Creek Kennel

Puppies will be ready to go to their new homes at 8 weeks.  They will be up to date on vaccinations, and have tails docked.  I will also provide a health guarantee on my puppies if requested.

All puppies are sold with limited registration.  I am willing to upgrade to full registration to an approved breeder only.

DEPOSITS & PRICING

I will accept deposits of $150.00 to hold your puppy until it is 8 weeks.  I will accept cash, check, money order or paypal (add 3%) for the deposit, but I cannot accept a check at the time of pick-up.  If you choose paypal to pay the balance of your puppy, please do so at least 5 business days before pick up, because that is how long it takes paypal to process the payment unless you have that much in paypal.

Prices on puppies will vary depending on color, size and coat.  Please call or email to get pricing on a certain puppy. Puppies with standard colors and coats start at $350.00.  Puppies with special colors such as parti, and liver, and toy sizes will start at $500.00.

FOOD

We use IAMS puppy food.  When puppies first start eating, we use the Ceasar soft food (found at Walmart for around $.97)  Once the babies teeth start coming in good, we start adding IAMS puppy food and start reducing the amount of soft food until they are eating nothing but the IAMS.  If you plan to change your puppy to another brand of food, please add a little of the new kind to the IAMS and start reducing the IAMS and adding more of the other for several days so you upset your little baby's tummy.  Changing food can make their stomach very sick if not done slowly.  I will give you enough food for you new baby to last the first few days.

We start off feeding our babies three times a day if they are weened, and twice a day if they are still nursing.  Usually by the time they go to their new homes, they will be eating in the morning and afternoon.  If you have a very small or toy sized puppy, you will probably need to feed smaller portions three times a day if possible.  Very small puppies can get hypoglycemic very easily.

POTTY TRAINING

We use the crate system for potty training.  That seems to work best for our family.  The most important thing about potty training is that you are consistent.  You have to remember that your puppy will still be a baby when he/she comes home and will needs lots of guidance and patience.  Their tummy will still be very small and will not be able to go very long without needing to go potty.  If you will be very consistent and take him/her potty regularly, you will have much better results!   Dedication now will save a LOT of frustration in the future.

With the crate system, what we do is as soon as the puppy comes out of the crate, we take them straight outside to go potty.  We do not play with the puppy or talk to the puppy except for to tell him/her "go potty" until after he/she does their business.  Then we reward them by lots of love and attention for doing the right thing.  Then we go in to get water and breakfast.  Then, we go right back outside.  Sometimes they will go right away, but sometimes it can take a while.  The most important thing is that you not give up or loose patience.  The routine will get better the more you guys practice it and the more your baby learns what you expect him/her to do.  Remember that your puppy will still need lots of nap times.  He/she is still a baby and needs his rest.  But, AS SOON as your baby wakes up, take him/her outside.  He/she WILL need to go potty.  If you have a playtime, take him/her outside before taking a nap, before and after eating, pretty much before and after everything.  Just remember, this won't last long.  You guys will build your routine and his/her bladder will grow and learn the routine and he/she will be able to hold it longer.  Good luck!  I'm certainly no expert, but if you have any questions, or if I can help, please give me a call or send me an email.  I will be here to help in anyway I can!  I want you to be very happy with your new baby!

BEDDING

We use the crate system for the puppy's bed as well.  This gives each puppy his/her own room or space.  Dogs do not like to use the bathroom where they sleep.  Once your puppy figures out his/her routine and learns that this is his/her new bed, you should see fewer accidents.  I would not put any nice bedding in the crate until you see that your puppy is making it through the night without any accidents on a regular basis.  (Please don't just put your puppy in the crate and just leave him/her there.  No one would want to be locked up like that.  Your puppy needs lots of love and attention!)  However, when you can't watch your baby, you can put him/her in the crate and give him/her toys and/or chews to give them something to do.  Once your baby gets a little older and starts learning the routine, the crate can be used less and less except for bedtime.  You may want to leave the crate door open though because sometimes they will just go in on their own and lay down if they need a nap.  That is there comfortable safe place.
